A blue dye test was conducted on the kitchen waste system, which immediately confirmed a waste pipe leak as dye was seen pulling through into the cellar area.
Further testing was then carried out using yellow dye within the side waste line serving the kitchen sink and dishwasher discharge pipework. The dye appeared instantly within the affected area, strongly indicating a blocked or potentially collapsed drain.
The external manhole was then accessed and found to be heavily blocked.
